Dr. Mousumi Som is a professor of internal medicine, the designated institutional official of the Oklahoma State University (OSU) Center for Health Sciences and the Vice Chair of the Internal Medicine Department there. She graduated from the University North Texas Health Science Center with her DO and master’s degree in clinical research and education in 2006. She then completed her residency in internal medicine in 2009 at OSU Medical Center. Dr. Som has been an internal medicine faculty member at OSU since 2009. Dr. Som has participated in several clinical research trials, including three during the COVID-19 pandemic. She has also published more than 20 research and review trials with residents and medical students as co-authors. Dr. Som is a Crucial Conversations Trainer and provides annual training to OSU residents and medical students. She has served in a variety of organizations involved in medical education, including the National Board of Osteopathic Medical Examiners (NBOME), American Osteopathic Association, and Osteopathic Founders Foundation. She currently serves as a member of the Board for the NBOME, as well as for the Tulsa Health Department in Oklahoma.
