Susan Enright, DO, FACOI is currently serving as the Assistant Dean for Clerkship Education at her alma mater, Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Entering her 5th year at MSUCOM, she directs the operational and curricular elements of the clerkship for 600 students. Prior to her work in Undergraduate Medical Education, Dr. Enright was privileged to serve in Graduate Medical Education as the Internal Medicine Program Director at Genesys Regional Medical Center for over 16 years. She successfully transitioned her program into the single GME accreditation system. Throughout her time as Program Director, she also held positions as Traditional Internship Program Director, Director of Students, and interim Director of Medical Education. In addition to her medical education roles, Dr. Enright was very active in both patient safety and quality improvements efforts within the organization.

Dr. Enright has participated in leadership roles at the American College of Osteopathic Internists as both a Board member as well as Chairperson of the colleges’ Council on Education and Evaluation. As Chairperson of the American Osteopathic Associations Program and Trainee Review Council, Dr. Enright has played an active role in the development of policies and processes to assist programs in the transition to Single Accreditation as well as for programs remaining under AOA’s accreditation.

With a great interest in improving medical education, she has served on the Coalition for Physician Accountability’s Planning Committee and UME-GME Review Committee. As an Executive Committee Member for the UME-GME Review Committee, Dr. Enright has had the privilege of serving as the workgroup lead representing the UME perspective.

Dr. Enright enjoys spending time with her husband, Scott and daughter, Marissa, a zoology masters graduate. They enjoy traveling, particularly to zoos and aquariums throughout the United States.
