The second National Learning Community of Sponsoring Institutions Meeting convened September 19-20, 2023 with an impressive lineup of speakers and sessions designed to address the evolving landscape of graduate medical education (GME) and health care leadership for institutions. Thank you to all who participated.

The ACGME was pleased to welcome more than 300 designated institutional officials and other institutional leaders for two days of networking and shared learning focused on improvements and innovations.

Themed “Building Connections, Leading Change,” the meeting highlighted the objectives of the ACGME’s Sponsoring Institution 2025 initiative, which advances three pillars and associated domains:

• Transforming Education through GME Innovation
• Optimizing Health Systems for Learning
• Demonstrating Commitment to Excellence in Patient Care

Participants noted that the meeting provided excellent opportunities for in-depth networking with other institutional leaders, and that the smaller, more intimate size of the sessions offered greater opportunities to ask questions and gain detailed insights into the topics being discussed. The participation of experienced leaders from a diverse group of Sponsoring Institutions allowed for collaborative pursuit of innovation in GME and clinical learning environments.

After two rich days of connecting and learning, the 2023 National Learning Community of Sponsoring Institutions meeting proved to be an important forum for discussing the transformative changes occurring in GME and health care leadership. The meeting provided a wealth of insights and strategies to ensure institutional readiness for meeting future health care demands, from enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical education; to developing physician leaders in health care administration, leadership, and management; to building institutional connections across professions and with patients.
