Last summer, the Coalition for Physician Accountability created the Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) to Graduate Medical Education (GME) Review Committee (UGRC) and charged them with the task of recommending solutions to identified challenges in the UME-GME transition. Some of these challenges included systemic bias, high levels of stress on learners and program directors, increasing financial costs, and much more. The UGRC has released its report, which contains background materials and information about the UGRC’s formation, structure, and process, and includes the committee’s 42 preliminary recommendations. The call for feedback on these recommendations will be open from April 26 to May 26, 2021.
