January 12, 2022

The National Academy of Medicine (NAM) has launched a Resource Compendium for Health Care Worker Well-Being, a collection designed to highlight tools ready to be deployed and strategies to address systems issues related to health care worker burnout. The compendium has well-being resources to help health care workers and leaders with providing much needed support to caregivers and is organized into six essential elements:

1) Advancing organizational commitment

2) Strengthening leadership behaviors

3) Conducting workplace assessments

4) Examining policies and practices

5) Enhancing workplace efficiency

6) Cultivating a culture of connection and support

The compendium is a product of NAM’s Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience, of which the ACGME is involved with President and CEO Dr. Thomas J. Nasca, MD, MACP as co-chair. Learn more about the Action Collaborative on Clinician Well-Being and Resilience at nam.edu/CW
