The graduate medical education (GME) community will convene for the 2023 Annual Educational Conference at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee, February 23-25, 2023. The conference will offer robust educational sessions and inspiring keynote speakers for amazing learning experiences. But just as importantly, the conference will bring together professionals from across the GME spectrum for valuable networking, allowing attendees to get the most out of their time at the conference—reconnecting with colleagues, sharing experiences and information, and making new and lasting contacts. Networking opportunities will be offered each day of the conference. Here’s a quick snapshot of some of what’s planned.
On Thursday, the Marvin R. Dunn Welcoming Poster Reception and Exhibitor Kick-Off will include live country music and fun activities. The Exhibit Hall will feature a range of vendors offering the latest information on technology and educational software, simulation technology, patient management solutions, and more. In addition, more than 75 posters will highlight the latest research and innovations in GME.
Also in the Exhibit Hall, daily educational demonstrations will give exhibitors the opportunity to share information regarding their product or service! The Exhibit Hall theater can fit 40 participants for each demo. The ACGME’s Conference Mobile App, which will be available for download on your mobile device, will provide you with all the dates, times, and presenters.
The ACGME will host the first-ever Coordinator Networking Reception following the Coordinator Forum Full-Day Course on Thursday, February 23, open to all institutional and program coordinators looking to connect with others in the coordinator community.
The always-popular conversational badge ribbons will be available in the Registration area for attendees to add to their badges. Attendees can choose from an array of personal and professional identifiers that will be sure to help you strike up conversations with peers. And you can take networking an important step further by connecting with a mentor and/or mentee at the conference. If this sounds appealing to you, make sure to pick up a “Happy to Be Your Mentor” or “Will You Be My Mentor?” badge ribbon from the ribbon wall. The ACGME will provide areas for mentors and mentees to convene.
On Saturday, February 25, the Toast on the Terrace will immediately follow the Closing Plenary, offering all in attendance the chance to reflect on the conference, celebrate the connections made, and mingle with colleagues and ACGME leaders and staff members.
Attendees can network and meet with ACGME staff members from different ACGME departments, divisions, and initiatives throughout the conference in the ACGME Hub, located in the Exhibit Hall. ACGME staff members will be available for drop-by consultations during the lunch breaks on both Friday and Saturday, as well as during Thursday evening’s Marvin R. Dunn Welcoming Poster Reception and Exhibitor Kick-Off.
The range of GME professionals at the conference will allow attendees to network with designated institutional officials (DIOs), program directors, faculty members, coordinators, residents, fellows, and others in GME from across the US and the world and who are passionate about education and collaboration. The Annual Educational Conference is a great opportunity to engage with colleagues and make lasting connections, learn what others are doing, and discover best practices to bring back to their home institutions and programs.
We look forward to connecting with you in Nashville!
