All accepted abstracts will be presented on site as posters at the conference, taking place March 7-9, 2024 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida. Members of the graduate medical education (GME) community are encouraged to use this opportunity to share their innovations and research with their peers.

Agenda At-a-Glance Now Available!
Designed specifically for designated institutional officials (DIOs) and other institutional leaders, the meeting will convene in Chicago and online.
The meeting will provide unique opportunities for shared learning, networking, and peer support; foster community building among Sponsoring Institutions; and allow Sponsoring Institutions to collaborate, share successful practices to strengthen clinical learning environments, and solve challenges.
TUESDAY! MUA/P Interest Group Sessions
The aim of these interest group sessions is for the community to learn about efforts in GME and MUA/P, to solve for common challenges, and to share helpful knowledge and resources.
The first session, “Lessons Learned: Building a Sustainable Program with an Underserved Area/Population," will be held this Tuesday, August 22 at 3:00 p.m. Central.

Shaping GME | Call for Comments
The process convened specialty-specific writing groups, who, along with members of the specialty community and leaders from other specialties and related fields, rigorously and creatively considered what the specialty will look like in the future (recognizing that the future is marked with significant uncertainty). Out of this process, the Writing Group will draft and propose revisions to the Program Requirements that will prepare the learners for current practice and generations to come.

Post-Dobbs: The Consequences of Abortion Bans on Complex Family Planning Training

While recent abortion restrictions more directly impact the education and training of certain medical specialties, abortion bans affect all clinicians who may encounter pregnant patients, including complex family planning physicians who now find their field becoming more stigmatized, siloed, restricted, and even outlawed. This Perspectives article argues for ways the ACGME and other organizations can advocate for creating or expanding access, education and training, and clinician protections.

Holistic review within residency admissions has gained a growing interest, as it can better align residency selection criteria with institutional values and increase program diversity. Limited guidance exists, however, on how to practically implement it. This Educational Innovation article reports on how an internal medicine residency program implemented a novel holistic review process using a consensus-driven approach to identify desired applicant attributes that align with institutional mission and values.
Fall 2023 Developing Faculty Competencies in Assessment Course Returns to In-Person Format
The ACGME will offer its longstanding Developing Faculty Competencies in Assessment course in person in the ACGME office in Chicago, Illinois, October 8-13, 2023.
This course is intended to help participants design and make improvements in their own assessment programs and strive toward achieving the goals of competency-based medical education.
