As the largest gathering of the graduate medical education (GME) community in the world, attending the ACGME Annual Educational Conference is an opportunity to engage with peers from around the world, to share knowledge and experience, and to learn and discuss issues of importance to the field and your own work in GME. This two-way exchange of ideas is vital in building a truly global GME community of the future.
The 2024 ACGME Annual Educational Conference will be held March 7-9, 2024, at Rosen Shingle Creek Resort in Orlando, Florida, US. Following is an overview and highlight reel of some of what the conference offers and the numerous opportunities available to attendees from across the globe.
A Learning and Networking Opportunity
With over a hundred unique and engaging sessions attended by thousands of GME specialists, there is no better place to learn and discuss the issues that global GME faces. Whether it is through an educational session, at a poster presentation, or during one of many networking activities throughout the conference, the Annual Educational Conference is a rich networking experience.
From challenges arising from technology and societal influences to the health workforce, this conference provides the venue to engage with colleagues from around the world to discuss local and global trends and how they intersect, as well as to make new and grow existing collegial relationships.
For international attendees interested in learning more about the value of accreditation, the Annual Educational Conference is a perfect opportunity to see accreditation in action, especially through the many educational sessions offered over three days. Learn about the process, from application to site visits, and see how accreditation has benefited institutions and programs around the world.
In addition, attendees can meet with staff members from both ACGME Global Services and ACGME International to discuss advisory services and/or accreditation opportunities respectively.
Present a Poster
Have you thought about submitting an abstract to present a poster at the Annual Educational Conference? This is a marvelous way to share your research in a more interactive manner, and to truly engage with the global GME community.
In the past, many of our international participants have attended the conference to present their work, which helped them gain unique perspectives through their in-person interactions.
The submission process for abstracts will close on September 28, 2023, so don’t wait (click here to submit)! Decisions on abstracts will be made in early December.

Think Ahead, Plan Ahead
Although international travel has become much easier than during the COVID-19 pandemic, we recognize it remains a major undertaking and requires advanced planning.
Orlando is an accessible destination for our international attendees, with many direct flights to the major international airport there minimizing travel challenges due to connections.
As our events in Orlando often prove extremely popular with the GME community, we urge you to register as soon as possible once registration opens. And once you register, be sure to make your hotel arrangements, as our room block typically fills quickly!
Click here to be notified when registration opens.
We look forward to seeing you in Orlando in March!
